Release Notes for Structural Glass Add-On v2.00 for SCIA Engineer v22 and Above

Overview

The Structural Glass Add-On v2.00 introduces significant enhancements and new features, ensuring improved functionality, greater user control, and expanded language support. Key updates include:


  • 1. DIN 18008 compliance checks.

  • 2. Enhanced user interface (UI) for 2D member data.

  • 3 . Improvements in engineering report generation and customization.

  • 4. Support for a new language (French) in EN16612 checks.

  • 5. Updates to EN16612 checks for all supported languages.

 DIN 18008 compliance checks

The add-on now includes compliance checks based on the German Glass Code (DIN 18008).


  • Output Availability: Engineering report outputs are provided in both German and English.

Enhanced user interface (UI) for 2D member data

Key improvements in user experience and data input include:

  • Safety Coefficients: Users can now input safety coefficients for both annealed and prestressed glass, according to national annexes.

  • Laminated Glass Converter: A new converter considers foil characteristics to calculate an equivalent thickness for stress and deflection analysis.

  • SLS Checks: A transparent span-to-depth ratio feature is now available for Serviceability Limit State (SLS) checks.


Improvements in engineering report generation and customization

Enhancements to the engineering report aim to improve clarity and customization:

  • User-Defined Units: Results are now displayed in user-defined units rather than standard SI units, facilitating more concise formula substitutions.

Graphical Displays: Laminated glass composition is now visualized graphically within the report.

  • Equivalent Thickness Transparency: The calculation process for the equivalent thickness of laminated glass packages is now more transparent, offering greater insight into the methodology.


Support for a new language (French) in EN16612 Checks
  • French Language Addition: EN16612 checks now include French as a supported language.

  • Comprehensive Language Support: The engineering report is now available in French, English, German, Czech, Brazilian Portuguese, Croatian, and Romanian.

Updates to EN16612 checks for all supported languages

All supported languages have been updated to the latest versions. This includes:

  • Romanian, Czech, Brazilian Portuguese, Croatian, and German.
